How To Get To The Queens Gardens Hollow Knight

Isma's tear is necessary to enter the garden I believe. Just gotta duke it out with the Dung Defender; hugging the walls make the fight significantly easier.

Wrong. You can also get in with the Shade Cloak

The only ways into the garden are blocked behind one of two abilities (Isma's Tear and Shade Cloak), though you can also get in with the super dash, but it requires being able to perform what is likely the hardest skip done by speedrunners.

You don't exactly need to go to the garden at this point in the game, so you'd be better off facing the Dung Defender to get access to Isma's Tear. He's one of the easier bosses in the game, so it's definitely doable. I personally find the garden to be an area to be visited late game.

Ah, I completely forgot about the Shade Cloak path being an option for entering it first. It really slips my mind how you can get pretty much every upgrade in a bunch of different orders. I'm also curious about that speedrun skip, so I'll have to look at that sometime.

But yeah, the Garden is definitely one of the more difficult areas in the game. I second it as something you should save for near the end.

Im assuming speedrunners dash under the low hanging thorny plant for which youll usually need ismas tear. Just a guess tho.

That's the one. It's similar to how you can super dash to get into fog canyon from the crossroads. Still really difficult as the ledge for the one at the gardens is a lot smaller.

I've been in the shade cloak and isma's tear paths but most of it is inaccessible, am i missing something obvious?

Maybe you're talking about a different one, but I find dashing under the thorn plan surprisingly easy, and I don't have Isma's tear. I still can't find any ledge to get to the Queen's Gardens, though.
